COMMITTEES

Parent-Teachers Association

The PTA of the school organises and supports numerous programmes for the welfare of the children of the school. In the past the PTA has organised workshops and training programmes for students, training programmes for teachers, organised field trips, arranged entertainment programmes like puppet shows and magic shows for children, arranged career counselling talks, adolescent education programmes, personality and skill development programmes, etc.

Every parent of the school is a member of the PTA. The school collects an amount of Rs.50/- per child from the parents towards the PTA Fund.

There is an executive body consisting of the parents and teachers that discuss issues related to the students. Executive body has a parent representative and a teacher representative from each grade. The parent representative of a grade is decided by draw of lottery, if there is more than one parent keen on being a member of the executive committee.

Currently the school PTA executive committee is constituted as follows:

Chairperson: Principal

Vice-chairperson: One from amongst the parents

Secretary: One from amongst the teachers

Two joint secretaries: Both from amongst parents.

Members: One parent and one teacher from every grade.

The Vice Chairperosn, Secretary and the Joint Secretaties are elected from amonglst the executive committee members by the executive committee members. The term of the Executive Committee of the Parent-Teachers Association is one academic year and no member of the Executive Committee shall be eligible for becoming an executive committee member for a period of three years.

Anti-bullying Committee


The basic objective of the committee is to engage all teaching and non- teaching staff, students and parents in the effort against bullying and make school environment conducive and considerate so as to ensure that no incident that is not in conformity with the child’s human dignity, thus ensuring an enabling and positive environment.


The responsibilities of the committee will include the following:

1. Development and review of School Bullying Prevention Plan

2. Development and implementing bullying prevention programme

3. Developing training programmes for staff, students and parents.

4. Creating awareness through various programmes.

5. Being vigilant and observing signs of bullying and responding quickly and sensitively.

Parents Grievance Committee


Committee for Reddressal of Parents Grievances
All major grievances especially regarding school policies and programmes will be looked at by this committee.

Minor grievances shall be looked into at various levels - subject teachers, class teachers, PTMs, HM, VP and Principal. Grievances may be received by email, drop box letter, oral communication, SMS, whatsapp, children's diaries. They will be processed at the appropriate level. Principal shall decide whether the grievance need to be escalated to the committee set up for redressal of parent grievances.

Committee for Reddressal of Public Grievances

This committee shall look into any grievances of the general public related to the school.

Committee for Redressal of Staff Grievances

This committee shall look into the grievances of the staff that have not been redressed by the Principal or requires the attention of the Trustees of the school.

Committee for Reddressal of Students Grievances

All major grievances of the students shall be looked into by this committee. However, students are advised to first approach their class teacher, counsellor and headmistress/vice principal in case of any issues that require redressal. Nonetheless, children may approach any of the committee members in case they are more comfortable discussing their issues with them. It is suggested that issues related to the houses may be discussed with the respective house mentors first and issues related to the class with the respective class teacher first.

It is the policy of the school to provide gender equality and safe environment for women and girls without being sexually harassed by anyone. The school takes a serious view of any attempt to humiliate or undermine a girl or a woman on account of her sex and all employees of the school are to strictly meet the expectations of the school.

Definition of Sexual harassment:

Sexual harassment, as defined by the Supreme Court, includes such unwelcome sexually determined behaviour (whether directly or by implication) as:

1. Physical contact or advances

2. A demand or request for sexual favours

3. Sexually coloured remarks

4. Showing pornography

5. Any other unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of sexual nature.

The school has created a complaint committee consisting of the following headed by Mrs. Madhavi B Char to look into complaints of sexual harassment. Any complaint regarding sexual harassment may be made in writing to the Head of the Complaint Committee.

School Complaints Committee for POCSO
This committee shall look into any complaint regarding child sexual offences under POCSO act.


A child may approach any teacher he/she is comfortable with in discussing any issue related to child sexual offence. The teacher has to immediately place the matter before this committee.

If preliminary enquiry indicates even the slightest doubt sexual offence, it shall be dealt with as per the provisions of POCSO act.

The school council shall meet to discuss ways to improve the school. This will be the forum where children’s ideas, problems and suggestions will be heard in a positive manner to take the school forward. The school council may suggest ways to improve - the functioning of the school, academic performance, sports and co-curricular performance, health of school, integrity of the school, etc.

School council will consist of the Principal, Vice Principal, Headmistress, House Mentors, all HODs, Prefectorial body and any other members co-opted by the Principal.

Open House Meeting.

Regular 'Parent-Teacher' meet  every month on 2nd Saturday.

All second Saturday [ STD Nur.-XII ] is an open day for the parents. Parents can feel free to discuss with the teachers regarding the academics and life of their children in the school.
